Aisha Wahab Wins California 14th District Special Election
Aisha Wahab won a special election on Tuesday. She will join Congress from California's 14th District.
Wahab defeated Melissa Hernandez in the vote. Wahab was a former state senator.
She will finish the term of Eric Swalwell. Swalwell resigned in April.
He faced sexual misconduct allegations. Swalwell denied the allegations.
His term ends in January. Wahab and Hernandez will run against each other again in November. That election will decide a full two-year term.
