Artemis II Breaks Apollo 13 Distance Record

Four astronauts on Artemis II broke a space record Monday. They traveled farther than Apollo 13 did in April 1970.

Apollo 13 held the record for 56 years at 248,655 miles. The Artemis II crew reached 252,760 miles from Earth. They broke the record at 1:57pm eastern time on Monday.

Klear Note Apollo 13 was a 1970 moon mission that had problems but returned safely. Artemis II is NASA's new moon program testing spacecraft for future missions.
