Bangladesh Votes After Prime Minister Ousted
Bangladesh held a parliamentary election recently after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced out in 2024. Young people led protests that caused her government to collapse.
She had ruled for 15 years in an authoritarian way. More than 127 million people were able to vote.
The BNP and Jamaat parties competed in the election. Results are expected on Friday, February 13. This election is the first real test of democracy since Hasina left power.
