This was its first return to England in nearly 1000 years. The tapestry left Normandy, France on July 9.
It reached London around 3am on July 10. It traveled in a special container that controlled shaking and temperature.
The tapestry will go on display at the British Museum in London starting September 10 2026. The show will run until July 11 2027.
Tickets have already been selling fast. Tickets for September through December 2026 sold out already.
About 100000 tickets reportedly sold on the first day alone. Museum director Nicholas Cullinan compared the demand to getting tickets for a famous music festival.
