Bezos Plans to Push Trump for Zero Income Taxes
Amazon boss Jeff Bezos wants zero federal income taxes for lower earners. He made the call in a live TV interview on May 20 2026.
Bezos said he plans to push the idea directly to President Trump. He argued that raising taxes on the wealthy will not help average Americans.
Bezos also accused US politicians of using tax policy as a political tool. He said politicians unfairly target the ultra-wealthy for political gain.
Bezos used the example of a nurse earning $75,000 a year. He said she pays over $1,000 a month in taxes.
He argued the US has a spending problem rather than a revenue problem. He said the bottom half of earners contribute about 3% of federal tax income. He argued that spending cuts could replace that lost revenue.
Klear Note — Federal income taxes are money workers pay to the government from their paychecks. The US government uses this money to pay for roads, schools, military, and other services.
