Booker Questions Maine Senate Candidate Over Controversies
US Senator Cory Booker raised concerns about Maine Senate candidate Platner on Sunday. Booker appeared on ABC's This Week and said Platner had questions to answer.
Reports say Platner sent sexual messages to women outside his marriage. Platner's wife told his campaign he had done this with about six women.
She also called media outlets reporting the story shameful. She said they were focusing on gossip instead of real issues.
The reports came from the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Booker also raised other concerns about Platner.
These included a Nazi-style tattoo and posts on Reddit. Senate Democrats have faced questions about the matter.
Klear Note — Senate races in Maine determine who represents the state in Congress. Democrats and Republicans compete for these seats every six years.
