British Citizen Milo Yiannopoulos Detained by ICE

Milo Yiannopoulos is a British citizen. He lives and works in the United States.

He was taken into ICE custody on Thursday. This happened at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

The airport is in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the arrest.

DHS said Yiannopoulos stayed in the United States after his visa expired. DHS also said he entered the country legally in May 2019.

He is now subject to a final order of removal. This means he must leave the United States.

An immigration judge issued that removal order on July 22. The order came after Yiannopoulos missed an immigration hearing.

Forbes reported his custody followed the missed hearing. The missed hearing happened before the order.

It was not immediately before his airport arrest. Yiannopoulos is expected to stay in ICE custody until he is removed.
