Bus Carrying Polish Pilgrims Crashes in Hungary Killing 12
A bus carrying Polish pilgrims crashed in Hungary. It happened early Sunday near Mezőkeresztes, Hungary.
The bus went off the M3 motorway. It overturned into a ditch.
At least 12 people died. At least 10 others were seriously injured.
Firefighters rescued 35 people from the bus. Some passengers were trapped beneath the vehicle.
Police arrested the driver after the crash. The driver may have fallen asleep.
The pilgrims were from Poland's Podkarpackie region. They were returning from a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Medjugorje is in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
