Canadian Woman Shot Dead at Mexico Pyramids

A Canadian woman was shot and killed on Monday in Mexico. The shooting happened at the Teotihuacán pyramids near Mexico City.

The gunman then killed himself. Six other people were hurt in the shooting.

Four were hit by gunfire and two were hurt in falls. The wounded included one Canadian and two Colombians.

One Russian visitor was also hurt. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she is watching the situation closely.

She is also in contact with the Canadian embassy. The Teotihuacán pyramids are a popular tourist site.

Mexico is set to co-host the World Cup in June. This shooting is the latest violent incident before that event.
