A car hit a crowd in Modena, Italy injuring eight people. Four of them were in serious condition.

Investigators are working out if the driver acted on purpose. Authorities have not ruled out terrorism as a motive.

The driver reportedly had a history with mental health services. After the crash the driver got out and used a knife to attack a bystander.

Residents stepped in to stop the driver from running away. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called the incident extremely serious.
