CBS Reporter Accuses News Chief of Killing 60 Minutes
Scott Pelley is a reporter who has worked at CBS News for over 20 years. On Monday he spoke at a staff meeting for the show 60 Minutes.
The meeting introduced staff to new boss Nick Bilton. Pelley accused CBS News chief Bari Weiss of killing 60 Minutes.
He also told Bilton he lacked the skills to lead the show. Other producers at the meeting backed Pelley.
Staff are now wondering if Pelley will quit. The criticism came after CBS fired several key staff on Thursday.
The show's top producer and top editor were both let go. Correspondents Cecilia Vega and Sharyn Alfonsi also lost their jobs. Nick Bilton was named the new top producer of 60 Minutes.
