Chelsea Appoints Xabi Alonso After FA Cup Final Loss
Manchester City beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal in the 72nd minute.
His back-heel flick was praised as one of the great FA Cup goals. Semenyo joined City from Bournemouth in January.
The win gives City a domestic cup double. They had already won the League Cup.
City still has two league games left and could win the title. Chelsea named Xabi Alonso as their new manager the next day. Alonso is a former midfielder who played for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Klear Note — The FA Cup is England's oldest soccer tournament. Chelsea's loss prompted them to hire a new manager.
