Chess Champion Kramnik Banned Over Cheating Remarks
Vladimir Kramnik is a former Russian world chess champion. The world chess federation banned him for at least a year.
He had publicly accused other players of cheating. The federation found him guilty of bullying and false accusations.
One player he accused was Daniel Naroditsky. Naroditsky was a well-known American chess grandmaster.
He died in October 2025 at age 29. Before his death Naroditsky spoke about the harm Kramnik's accusations caused him. Kramnik plans to appeal the ban.
Klear Note — World chess federation sets rules for top players worldwide. Cheating accusations damage players' careers and reputations badly.
