Chinese Robot Runs 100 Meters Faster Than Bolt's Record

A Chinese robot named Lightning ran 100 meters in 9.32 seconds. That beat Usain Bolt's human world record of 9.58 seconds.

The run happened at China's World Humanoid Robot Games. Reports also said the robot reached a peak speed of 14.5 meters per second.

Smartphone maker Honor separately said an android at the games beat Bolt's record. That statement described the same fast run reported by other sources.

The second World Humanoid Robot Games opened on August 22 2026. Last year humanoid robots struggled to finish a race. This year's fast run shows how much robots have improved.

Klear Note Humanoid robots use body designs and movements resembling people. Last year's race difficulties show this speed is a recent development.
