Congo Suspends Flights as Ebola Spreads to Uganda
Congo has stopped flights to its eastern city of Bunia. This follows an Ebola outbreak spreading across three provinces: Ituri, Nord-Kivu and Sud-Kivu.
Health workers tracking the virus got overwhelmed as it spread. Uganda confirmed new Ebola cases showing the virus crossed the border.
Regional health ministers warned of growing cross-border risks. Nearby countries stepped up monitoring in response.
Klear Note — Ebola is a deadly virus spread through contact with infected blood or body fluids. Outbreaks in Central Africa happen periodically and can spread quickly across borders.
