Court Blocks Trump Tariffs: New Probes Start
The Supreme Court ruled against President Trump's tariffs. The court voted 6-3 on February 20.
Trump did not have power under trade emergency law. The Trump administration then launched new trade probes.
These target Mexico, China, the European Union, and others. The probes will lead to fresh tariffs. These new tariffs will replace the blocked ones.
Klear Note — Tariffs are taxes on goods from other countries. They make foreign products cost more in US stores. Trump used emergency powers to impose them, but the court said he couldn't.
