Defense Rests in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial
The defense rested Friday in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial. This followed testimony from forensic psychiatrist Phillip Resnick.
Clancy is charged with killing her three young children. She has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.
Her lawyers do not dispute that she killed them. They argue postpartum psychosis means she should not be held responsible.
Defense witnesses said Clancy was not criminally responsible for the killings. Prosecutors argue Clancy planned the killings and faked a suicide attempt.
Prosecutors are expected to call rebuttal witnesses next. Closing arguments and jury deliberations will follow next week.
The killings happened in Duxbury, Massachusetts in January 2023. The children were Cora, 5, Dawson, 3 and Callan, 8 months old.
