Drone Hits British Base in Cyprus
A drone struck RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus at midnight. Two more drones heading toward the base were shot down after.
No one was hurt in the attack. The base had minimal damage.
Some people were partly evacuated from the base. This was the first strike on a British military base in Cyprus since 1986.
Leaders think the drone launched before the UK said it would allow US airstrikes. The foreign secretary said the UK is not being pulled into conflict.
Klear Note — RAF Akrotiri is a major British military base in Cyprus. This is the first attack on it since 1986, making it a rare event.
