Ex-Attorney General Bondi to Testify on Epstein Files Friday

Pam Bondi will appear before a US House committee on Friday. She was removed as attorney general in April.

The hearing will be held behind closed doors. Bondi will answer questions about the Justice Department's handling of the Epstein case.

She will also face questions about releasing the Epstein files while she led the department. The hearing is a recorded interview rather than a formal sworn statement.

Committee chair James Comer allowed this format to get Bondi to cooperate. But Democrats criticized the decision not to video-record the session.

Bondi was first ordered to appear in March. She declined to show up.

Democrats then filed a legal complaint against her in late April. Republicans set the Friday hearing date within 45 minutes of that filing.

Klear Note Jeffrey Epstein was a financier convicted of sex trafficking. His case involved many powerful people. The files contain sensitive documents about the investigation.
