An explosion happened at a synagogue in Liège, Belgium early Monday. The blast damaged the synagogue and nearby buildings.

No one was hurt, according to police. Authorities started investigating the explosion.

The interior minister and Mayor Willy Demeyer both called it antisemitic. The mayor said the attack was targeted and extremely violent.
