False Report Separates Buttigieg From His Twin Children

Pete Buttigieg was separated from his 4-year-old twins overnight. An anonymous report falsely accused him of being a threat to them.

Michigan State Police and Child Protective Services went to his home in Traverse City, Michigan. Both groups found the report was false.

Buttigieg called the incident "among the darkest hours of my life" in a Friday post. Police told him the accusation was believed to be driven by politics. The incident happened shortly after he shared family photos online for Father's Day.
