Family Says UK Police Pressure Led to Man's Death
Nicholas Brandram, 44, was found dead in Chiswick, west London, on Tuesday evening. Police believe it was his home.
His family says he took his own life. They say months of pressure from a Metropolitan Police investigation caused his death.
They blame the police for his death. Brandram had been arrested over a 2017 incident in London.
He was suspected of pushing a woman in front of a bus. He was released under investigation and never charged.
His family denies he was the so-called "Putney pusher." They say he was innocent. They say no credible or forensic evidence linked him to the incident.
Police called Brandram's death unexpected but not suspicious. The Metropolitan Police referred itself to the police watchdog.
The police had questioned about 50 people during the investigation. They detained three people and closed the case in 2018.
