Fashion Designer Bob Mackie Dies at 87

Bob Mackie died Monday at age 87. He was a famous fashion and costume designer.

His death was announced Monday in a statement online. No cause of death was given.

Mackie designed looks for Cher, Carol Burnett, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner and Diana Ross. He also designed for Marilyn Monroe and Elton John.

His sequined gowns and costumes shaped American fashion for over 50 years. His Hollywood style helped define glamour in the 1970s.

Mackie won nine Emmy Awards and one Tony Award. He also received three Oscar nominations.
