FDA Blocks Vaccine Safety Studies Paid for by Taxpayers
The US Food and Drug Administration blocked several vaccine safety studies from being published. The studies looked at COVID-19 and shingles vaccines.
They analyzed millions of patient records. The studies found that serious side effects from both vaccines were rare.
US taxpayers paid for the research. A government spokesperson said the studies were pulled because their conclusions were too broad. The spokesperson said the data did not support those conclusions.
Klear Note — The FDA approves and monitors vaccine safety in the US. Vaccine safety studies use patient records to find rare side effects. Taxpayer-funded research is usually published so the public can review findings.
