Federal Agent Arrested for Shooting Venezuelan Man
A federal immigration agent was arrested in Texas on Friday. The agent is Christian Castro age 52.
Texas Rangers and other agents took him into custody. Minnesota investigators tracked him to Texas before the arrest.
Castro shot Venezuelan immigrant Julio Sosa-Celis in Minneapolis on January 14. He fired through a closed front door and hit Sosa-Celis in the leg.
Four adults and two children were inside the home at the time. Castro faces four counts of assault. He is also accused of lying under oath about the shooting.
Klear Note — Federal agents enforce immigration laws. Shooting through a closed door into a home with children raises serious legal questions about use of force.
