A fire broke out at the Geelong oil refinery on Wednesday night. By Thursday morning, the fire was still burning.

The refinery is one of only 2 in Australia. It supplies half of Victoria's fuel and 10% of the nation's fuel.

Several explosions happened overnight in the motor gasoline area. About 50 firefighting vehicles responded to the fire.

Officials detected no chemical contaminants. Residents were told to stay indoors due to smoke.
