Five Found Alive in Flooded Laos Cave

Five people trapped in a flooded cave in Laos have been found alive. They had been stuck underground for more than a week.

Video appears to show divers finding the group sitting on a rock. The rock was surrounded by floodwater.

The five are still trapped and getting them out will be hard. Two other villagers from the same group are still missing.

Rescuers are still searching for them. All seven entered the cave on May 19 to search for gold.

Heavy rain caused sudden flooding that blocked the cave exit. More than 100 people are involved in the rescue. The team includes veterans of the 2018 Thai cave rescue.

Klear Note Caves can flood fast when heavy rain falls. Rescue teams need special diving skills to reach trapped people underground.
