Five Gold Seekers Freed from Flooded Laos Cave

Five men have been freed from a flooded cave in Laos. Seven men entered the cave on 20 May to search for gold.

Flash flooding blocked their way out and trapped them inside. They were trapped for 10 days before five were freed.

Rescuers drained water from the cave to reach the men. The rescue involved narrow flooded tunnels and sharp rocks.

Two men are still missing. Rescue efforts to find them continue.

Klear Note Flash floods happen fast in caves when heavy rain falls. Water traps people inside because exits fill up quickly. Cave rescues are very dangerous work.
