Four railway workers were killed in Japan on Thursday. A Tokyo-bound express train hit them at Shin-Kanuma Station.

This happened in Kanuma, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Seven workers were doing weed-control work nearby.

They worked on the Tobu Nikko Line. One victim was a supervisor.

The other three workers were unharmed. No passengers or crew members were injured.

Officials are investigating the crash. They want to know why the workers stayed on the track.

The train was approaching when it happened. Officials are also checking what the lookout was doing. The lookout is supposed to warn workers about approaching trains.
