France Marches for Lyhanna After Police Failures

Thousands of people joined a silent march on Sunday for Lyhanna. She was an 11-year-old girl who was murdered in France.

Her parents led the march in Fleurance in southwest France. Police had failed to question the suspected killer before the murder.

The suspect had faced child sexual abuse accusations going back years. A rape accusation was filed in August 2025.

But police did not question the suspect for nine months. Then Lyhanna disappeared.

France's Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin called the situation totally unacceptable. He launched an official inquiry. President Macron said the case showed a systemic failure in the justice system.
