A gunman opened fire in Kyiv, Ukraine on Saturday. At least 5 people were killed.

Ten others were taken to hospital. The shooting happened in a residential area of Kyiv.

The gunman set fire to an apartment. Then he barricaded himself inside a supermarket and took hostages.

Police stormed the supermarket and shot the gunman dead. Four hostages were rescued safely. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the shooting.
