Gunshots Near White House Cause Lockdown
Between 20 and 30 gunshots were heard near the White House on Saturday evening. The shots were fired near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington.
This is one block from the White House. Police responded right away.
The Secret Service and FBI both went to the scene. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the FBI was there.
The White House was locked down just after 6 p.m. The lockdown was lifted just before 6:50 p.m.
President Trump was inside the White House at the time. He was negotiating a deal with Iran when the shots were fired.
