Haaland Scores Twice as Norway Beat Brazil
Erling Haaland scored two goals as Norway beat Brazil 2-1. The win sends Norway into the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals.
Brazil are five-time World Cup champions but are now out of the tournament. Haaland headed Norway in front in the 11th minute.
He then sealed the win with a 90th-minute goal. Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland also played a key role.
He saved a first-half penalty from Bruno Guimarães. Neymar scored for Brazil from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
But it was not enough to save them. Norway will face the winner of Mexico versus England.
That quarter-final is scheduled for July 11. This is Brazil's earliest World Cup exit since 1990.
Klear Note — The World Cup is soccer's biggest tournament, held every four years. Brazil has won it five times, more than any other country.
