Iran and US Talks Stall Over Middle East War
Iran's top diplomat Abbas Araghchi traveled to Russia to meet President Vladimir Putin. They discussed the Middle East war as a form of needed coordination.
This visit came after talks between Iran and the United States stalled. Iran's diplomat blamed the United States on Monday for failed talks in Pakistan this month.
Those Pakistan talks were the first attempt to end the Middle East conflict. President Trump had cancelled his team's planned trip to Pakistan.
He said there was confusion within Iran's leadership. Before going to Russia Araghchi also met with officials in Muscat in Oman.
Iran has offered to give up control of the Strait of Hormuz to help end the conflict. Iran also asked the United States to lift its blockade.
But Iran's offer did not mention its nuclear program. President Trump planned to meet his top security advisors on Monday to discuss the Iran war. Both sides have not been able to agree on a way forward.
