Iran Attacks UAE as US Warns of Devastating Response

The US says it has stopped attacking Iran. It is now focused on protecting ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US called this mission 'Project Freedom.' So far only two merchant ships have used the strait under US protection. The US warned it could give a 'devastating' response to new threats there.

Defense Secretary Hegseth and General Caine said Iran's attacks had not yet reached the level of major combat. On May 5 the UAE reported Iranian drone and missile attacks.

An Iranian official said 'We are just getting started.' This raised concerns about the ceasefire falling apart. The ceasefire between the US and Iran has been in place since April 8. But incidents in the Strait of Hormuz are now testing it.

Klear Note The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. About one-third of world's oil passes through it. Attacks there disrupt global energy supplies and shipping.
