Iran Fires at US Bases; US Strikes Back
Iran fired missiles and drones at US bases on Friday. Targets included a US airbase in Kuwait and the US Navy base in Bahrain.
US forces shot down six of seven missiles fired at Kuwait and Bahrain. The seventh missile failed to reach its target.
US forces also shot down four Iranian drones near the Strait of Hormuz. The US then struck Iranian radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it caused damage to the Navy base in Bahrain. The US military said those claims were false. The attacks put a fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran at risk.
Klear Note — The US and Iran have had tense relations for decades. The Strait of Hormuz is a key shipping route for global oil trade.
