Iran Frees Nobel Winner Narges Mohammadi for Medical Care
Narges Mohammadi has been freed on bail in Iran. She is a Nobel Peace Prize winner jailed for opposing Iran's clerical system.
She was moved by ambulance to a hospital in Tehran. Reports say she suffered two suspected heart attacks in prison.
Supporters had warned she could die behind bars. Her lawyer said she lost 20 kilograms in custody.
She was described as looking very different from before her arrest. In writing smuggled out of prison she described medical neglect by Iranian prison staff.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee and the United Nations both called on Iran to help her. Mohammadi has been arrested 14 times for her work as an activist.
