Iran Strikes Kuwait Airport Killing One Person
An Iranian drone and missile attack hit Kuwait International Airport on Tuesday. One person died and 63 others were hurt.
The victim was an Indian national. Kuwait's defense ministry said Iran launched 13 ballistic missiles and 17 drones.
Some weapons got through and caused the casualties. Bahrain was also hit in the same attack wave.
Iran said the attack was payback for earlier US strikes on an Iranian oil tanker and island. The US military declined an Iranian claim about targeting a ship in the Gulf of Oman.
Iran's foreign minister said peace talks had made no real progress. Sources say Iran stopped talking to ceasefire go-betweens entirely.
Iranian state-linked agencies said talks were paused until a Lebanon ceasefire was enforced. But President Trump said talks could produce a breakthrough over the weekend. The US House of Representatives also passed a resolution to limit Trump's war powers.
