Iran Strikes UAE After US Sinks Six Boats
The US military sank six small Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. The boats had been targeting civilian ships.
US warships also shot down missiles and drones aimed at ships. The Navy was guiding those ships through the strait.
This was part of a US plan called 'Project Freedom' by President Trump. Only two US merchant ships got through on Monday.
Iran then fired missiles and drones at the United Arab Emirates. The UAE's defense ministry said it engaged 15 missiles and four drones.
A drone hit an oil facility in Fujairah in the UAE. The strike caused a fire and injured three Indian workers.
This was the first Iranian attack on the UAE since a ceasefire began in early April. Iran's foreign minister warned the US not to get pulled into a 'quagmire.' Tensions in the Middle East are now at their highest since the ceasefire began.
