Iran Strikes US Bases in Kuwait and Bahrain
Iran launched missiles and drones at US military bases on Sunday. The targets were in Kuwait and Bahrain.
Iran said the attacks were a response to US strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is a key global shipping route.
Kuwait intercepted two missiles and reported no casualties. A building in Bahrain was badly damaged.
Both Kuwait and Bahrain criticized the attacks. The US and Iran had signed an interim peace agreement on June 17 and 18.
It is known as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The ongoing strikes are putting that agreement at risk.
Iran threatened to stop all talks linked to the agreement. President Trump warned that Iran will no longer exist if the US is forced to act further. Tensions are also linked to efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz without Iran's oversight.
