Israel Kills Hamas Military Chief in Gaza Strike
Mohammed Odeh was the new head of Hamas's military wing. Israel killed him in a strike on Gaza City on Tuesday.
His wife and two children also died in the same strike. Israel announced his death on Wednesday.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called Odeh one of the architects of the October 7 attacks. Those attacks started over two years of war in Gaza.
Odeh died less than two weeks after his predecessor was also killed by Israel. A ceasefire has been in place since October.
But Israeli strikes have continued. Reports say more than 880 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began.
Klear Note — Hamas is a Palestinian group that fights Israel. October 7 attacks killed many Israelis and started the Gaza war. A ceasefire began in October 2025 but fighting has continued.
