Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire Breaks Down Immediately

Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire announced by the Trump administration. The deal is part of US efforts to end the broader war with Iran.

But the agreement broke down almost immediately. Hezbollah fired rockets at Israeli targets hours after the ceasefire was announced.

Israel also carried out drone strikes in southern Lebanon after the deal. The ceasefire requires Hezbollah to stop fighting.

But US-brokered talks did not include Hezbollah. Hezbollah has not commented on the agreement.

Israel and Hezbollah have kept attacking each other since an earlier ceasefire in April. That pattern explains why a new agreement was needed.

Klear Note Hezbollah is a militant group based in Lebanon. Israel and Hezbollah have fought multiple times over decades.
