Israel Plans to Stay in South Lebanon
Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz announced plans for a security zone in southern Lebanon. The area goes up to the Litani River.
It is about 19 miles from the border. Israel said it will destroy houses in Lebanese villages near the border.
About 600,000 residents will not be allowed to return until northern Israel is safe. Israel has been fighting Hezbollah in Lebanon since the start of March.
More than 1,070 people have been killed and over 1 million displaced.
