Israeli Settlers Attack West Bank Village, Block Family's Return
More than 100 Israeli settlers attacked a village in Jalud early Tuesday. Jalud is in the northern occupied West Bank.
This happened while soldiers tried to bring a Palestinian family home. Israel's Supreme Court had ordered the military to ensure the family's return.
The family had fled settler violence two months earlier. Settlers blocked the soldiers from completing the return.
During the attack settlers set fire to two homes. The homes belonged to the al-Tubasi family.
Settlers also attacked Israeli security forces. Three security force members were wounded.
The military said it used riot-control measures. It detained two suspects but did not complete the mission.
Palestinian news agency WAFA said forces did not stop the attack. WAFA said the family was forced to leave again. Some accused authorities of not doing enough to stop the settlers.
