Palestinian aid worker Mohammed al-Wahidi was killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza. Three others also died in the strike including two brothers aged 8 and 10.

Al-Wahidi led public relations for the Egyptian Relief Committee in Gaza. That group was set up by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to deliver aid.

Al-Wahidi had helped organise public World Cup screenings for people in Gaza. He was killed minutes before a planned screening of the Egypt vs.

Argentina match. The Israeli military said it had struck a Hamas fighter.

But it said it knew reports showed civilians were also harmed. No Palestinian armed group claimed any of those killed as its member.

A senior Egyptian official raised al-Wahidi's death with Israel. The official spoke against continued killings and any blocking of the committee's work. On Wednesday crowds of people in Gaza took to the streets for his funeral.
