An Italian NATO jet shot down a drone over Lithuania. This happened early Tuesday morning between Vilnius and Kaunas in Lithuania.
The drone was believed to have entered Lithuanian airspace from Belarus. Lithuania called it the first drone destroyed in its airspace.
There were no reports of casualties or damage. Poland sent fighter jets after Russian drone activity nearby.
In a separate incident a Russian warship fired flares. It fired at a Danish military helicopter.
The helicopter was taking photos of a Russian warship near Gedser, Denmark. Denmark said one flare passed the aircraft closely.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen accused Russia of reckless behavior. The Kremlin has not yet commented on her accusation.
These incidents are linked to Russia's war against Ukraine. The incidents have raised fears the war could spread to NATO territory.
