Judge Blocks Trump White House Ballroom Plan

On Tuesday, a judge in the United States stopped Trump's White House ballroom project. The judge said Trump manages the White House.

He does not own it. Congress must approve the project before work can continue.

Trump estimated the ballroom will cost at least $300 million. The judge's ruling references a planned $400 million ballroom.

The ballroom would be 90,000 square feet. The National Trust for Historic Preservation sued Trump and the National Park Service to stop it.

Trump said the group does not appreciate his efforts at improving Washington's buildings. The government appealed the judge's ruling.

Klear Note The White House is owned by the US government, not the president. Major changes need approval from Congress, the lawmakers who make federal laws.
