Kentucky Floods Kill at Least 4 People
At least 4 people have died in flash flooding in Kentucky on Saturday. At least 3 of those deaths happened in Madison County.
Two people died on University Drive in Richmond. Heavy rain and thunderstorms caused the flooding across the state.
Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency on Saturday afternoon. Five counties also declared local emergencies.
Storms brought up to 7 inches of rain to parts of Kentucky. Emergency crews rescued people from flooded homes and vehicles.
Rain was expected to continue into the night. This put rescue operations at further risk.
More deaths were expected to be confirmed soon. Flash flooding also reached parts of southern Indiana.
