Kyrgios Suspended After Positive Cocaine Test
Nick Kyrgios was provisionally suspended from tennis. He tested positive for cocaine.
Kyrgios is an Australian tennis player and former Wimbledon finalist. The suspension started August 4 2026.
It can still be appealed. It is not a final ban.
Tests found a breakdown chemical from cocaine in his sample. The sample was taken at an ATP tournament in Mallorca, Spain.
Reports say Kyrgios had not appealed as of August 19. Kyrgios apologized to his fans.
He said he "made a huge mistake." He said he struggled to accept nearing retirement. This followed two years of injuries.
