Lebanon Says Israeli Strikes Threaten Ceasefire
Israeli airstrikes hit Kfar Rumman, a village in southern Lebanon, overnight. Reports gave different death tolls.
Some said 11 people died when a building was hit. Another report said a paramedic died in a separate strike on a vehicle.
That would bring the total to 12 deaths. Other reports said at least 11 people were killed overall.
The dead reportedly included two children, two infants and two medics. A day earlier separate Israeli raids killed seven people.
Lebanon said this recent escalation threatens a ceasefire. The United States helped arrange the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
The ceasefire requires Hezbollah to leave southern Lebanon. It also requires Israeli forces to withdraw. The Lebanese army must then deploy in the south.
